London U.K. Tuesday 12th August 2025
Platform Housing Group (Platform / the Group), one of England's larger social landlords, owning over 50,000 homes across the Midlands, is announcing that its Group Chief Executive (CEO), Elizabeth Froude, will be stepping down in quarter one of 2026 to join Sage Homes as CEO.
As part of the plans to ensure medium-term continuity and stability at Platform, the Platform Group Board has asked the Chair, John Weguelin, to extend his tenure by up to one year and also agreed with Rosemary Farrar, Chief Finance Officer, that she will delay her previously agreed departure by a year to the end of 2026. Platform will be starting the recruitment of a new CEO shortly to enable appointment as early as possible.
Elizabeth has been with Platform since mid-2019, following its formation in late 2018. Elizabeth has been the driving force behind creating the brand and performance standards of an innovative, strong and ambitious organisation and she will continue in her commitment to ensuring the ongoing delivery of the Corporate Strategy until her departure.
Elizabeth Froude commented: "I am sad to leave behind an organisation that I feel so proud to have been a part of, but can see as I leave it is solidly set up for the next evolution, with strong and committed teams and a clear direction of travel, which will enable colleagues to continue building on what we have done over the past six years.
As the sector steps up to the massive task of supporting the delivery of 1.5 million homes in line with the UK Government's ambition, the alignment of all like-minded partners, both for-profit and not-for-profit, will be a key component to delivering success.
I look forward to joining Sage and building on the positives of the differing business models."
John Weguelin added: "Elizabeth has been an inspirational leader of the Group since joining in 2019, transforming Platform into a strong, innovative organisation and steering it through some of the most challenging times that the sector has faced, while continuing to deliver a robust development programme and a sharp focus on customers. Platform has very capable Executive and Senior Leadership Teams, who will continue to lead our operations and deliver our business objectives.
The Board is sad to see Elizabeth leave but wishes her every success in her new role, in which she will continue to bring her considerable knowledge and experience for the benefit of the sector. The Board has agreed a number of priorities, not least of which is to ensure that we provide stability and continuity during this period for all our stakeholders and partners and to continue to deliver our strategy."
