Board changes
The Board of Andes Energia PLC (AIM:AEN; BCBA:AEN), the Latin American energy group, is pleased to announce various board changes following the completion of the demerger on 12 July 2012.
BOARD CHANGES
The Company is strengthening its management and Board of Directors and is pleased to announce the appointments to the Board of Mr Rudolph Berends as Vice Chairman, Mr Leandro Carbone as Chief Executive Officer, Mr German Ranftl as Chief Financial Officer, Mr David Jackson as a non-executive director, Ms Carolina Landi as a non-executive director and Mr Javier Alvarez as a non-executive director with effect from 16 July 2012.
Rudolph Berends, Vice Chairman, aged 66. Rudolph has 39 years experience in the oil and gas industry. He started with Shell as an explorationist, has more than 20 years experience in Latin America and was a CEO/President of various public and private companies mainly focused on Latin America. Rudolph has a Doctoral degree in Geology/Geophysics and a BSc in Economics from universities in the Netherlands and the United States.
Leandro Carbone, Chief Executive Officer,aged 43. Leandro has 18 years experience in the oil and gas industry with more than 16 years experience in Argentina. He is a petroleum engineer and has worked with TOTAL, Petrolifera Petroleum and other small private oil and gas companies. Leandro has a Petroleum Engineering degree from Argentina.
German Rantfl, Chief Financial Officer,aged 46. German has a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Buenos Aires. He spent nearly eight years at ING Barings as a Vice President in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking and is currently Chief Financial Officer of EDEMSA.
David Jackson, Non-Executive Director, aged 63. David has more than 30 years experience in international banking and finance having held senior positions in Standard Chartered Bank (1990 - 2008), where he was a Managing Director in London and Hong Kong, Scandinavian Bank (1977 - 1990) in London, Bahrain, Singapore and Hong Kong where he was an Executive Director and a member of the Bank's General Management Committee and Finance for Industry, now 3i, where he was a Senior Legal Advisor (1973 - 1977). He retired from Standard Chartered Bank in 2008 and is currently the Non-Executive Chairman of Old Park Lane Capital plc.
Carolina Landi, Non-Executive Director, aged 36. Carolina graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 2003 with a law degree, and obtained a LLM in Business Law from the University of Palermo in 2003. She previously practised as a lawyer at the firm Laporta-Lopez & Partners. Carolina is currently the legal representative for the Patagonia Petroleo UTE.
Javier Alvarez, Non-Executive Director, aged 40. Javier has a Masters in Environmental Politics and Globalisation from King's College, University of London. Javier is an executive director and member of the board of directors of the British Argentine Chambers of Commerce.
Neil Bleasdale, presently Chairman, Luis Alvarez Poli, presently Chief Executive Officer and Marcelo Comba, presently a non-executive director, have stepped down from the Board. Nicolas Mallo Huergo, presently a non-executive director will remain on the board as Chairman, Juan Carlos Esteban, presently Chief Executive Officer of the Oil and Gas Operations, will remain on the board as Vice President of the Oil and Gas Operations and Nigel Duxbury, presently Chief Financial Officer, will remain on the Board as a non-executive director and Company Secretary.
