Appointment of non-executive Chairman
Globo plc ("Globo", "the Group" or "the Company";LSE-AIM: GBO), the international IT, mobile solutions and SaaS provider, is pleased to announce the appointment of Barry Michael Ariko as non-executive Chairman with immediate effect. This follows the decision by Brett Miller to step down as the Company's non-executive Chairman to focus on his other business activities which increasingly demand more of his time.
The Group has decided to establish an advisory committee, consisting of senior people with relevant expertise and knowledge, to advise and guide the board on a range of strategic matters. Mr Miller has agreed to serve on this committee for which other appointments will be announced in due course.
Mr Miller said:
"Globo is a high quality business which now has an outstanding opportunity for future growth and I have enjoyed serving on the board over the past four years. Globo is financially strong and Barry will be an excellent Chairman for the Group as it enters the next phase in its development."
Mr Ariko (aged 65) is an Independent Advisor to the Board of Autonomy Corporation plc where he also served as a non-executive director between January 2000 and October 2010. He has enjoyed a distinguished and successful career in enterprise companies and the software industry with directorships and other management roles including:

§ 2001 to present - Non-Executive Director of Incyte, a small molecule drug discovery
company.
§ 2010 to present - An Independent Advisor to the Board of Autonomy

§ 2000 to 2010 - Non-Executive Director of Autonomy Ltd.
§ March 2008 to May 2009 - Modius Inc., a private data centre management software
company
§ 2003 to 2007 - Non-Executive Director of Aspect Communications
§ November 2003to November 2007 - CEO and President of Mirapoint Inc, a private
manufacturer of messaging and email security systems which was sold to a group of
investors.
§ 2002 to 2008 - Non-Executive Chairman of Instranet Inc, a provider of web content-based
applications for call centre marketing productivity which was sold to Salesforce.com.
§ February 2000 to September 2001 - Chairman and CEO Extricity Inc, a provider of software
for the management of inter-company transactions and workflow which was acquired by Peregrine Systems in April 2001.
§ Prior to Extricity, he was Senior Vice President of AOL Inc, which had acquired Netscape
Communications Corp. where he was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
with primary responsibility for the enterprise software business since August 1998.
§ From April 1994 to August 1998, Executive Vice President in charge of the Americas
operations for Oracle Corp.
Between 1968 and 1994, Mr Ariko held management positions in Tandem Computers Inc., Sperry Univac (now Unisys) and Hazeltine Corp.
In 1981, Mr Ariko completed a BS Management (Summa Cum Laude) at Golden Gate University in San Francisco and, in 1992, completed the Advanced Executive Program at Northwestern University's J. L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management. From 1962 to 1967 he attended City College of New York as a New York State Regent Scholar.
There are no other disclosures required under Rule 17 Schedule 2 (g) of the AIM Rules.
