Board Appointment

United Carpets Group plc, the second largest chain of specialist retail carpet and floor covering stores in the UK, is pleased to announce the appointment of Operations Director Paul Newton as an Executive Director with immediate effect.

Having worked in the flooring sector for some 31 years, Paul David Newton (aged 48) has been Operations Director at United Carpets since September 2011, having previously held senior executive roles in two major flooring retailers, Mr. Newton is responsible for the retail operations of the Company's network of corporate and franchised stores.

Paul Eyre, Chief Executive, said:

"We are delighted to announce the appointment of Paul and would like to welcome him to the Board. With his extensive knowledge of the Company having worked with us for some 6 years, we are confident of his increased contribution to United Carpets".

The Company confirms that there is no other information which is required to be disclosed pursuant to Schedule 2 paragraph (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies.

Mr. Newton has no beneficial interest in the ordinary shares of the Company.
