Anglo American PLC02 June 2005 ANGLO AMERICAN plc (the "Company")Registration number 3564138 Appointment of Mr Rene Medori to the Board Following his election at the Company's Annual General Meeting held on 20 April2005, Mr Rene Medori's appointment as a director of the Company became effectiveon 1 June 2005. Mr Medori has a beneficial interest in 50,600 ordinary shares of US$0.50 each ofthe Company, which were conditionally awarded today based on the London StockExchange middle market quotation for 1 June 2005 of £13.34 per share. Theseshares will qualify for future dividends and will be released to him as to 60%in May 2006 and 40% in May 2007. On 1 June 2005, Mr Medori was also conditionally awarded a maximum of 67,384ordinary shares in terms of the Company's Long Term Incentive Plan. This awardwill vest in May 2008 subject to the satisfaction of the performance conditions.
