UNITED BUSINESS MEDIA PLC FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE United Business Media Qualifying Employee Share Ownership Trust (the "QUEST"),the trustee of the discretionary trust established in 1998 to facilitate theoperation of the United Group's SAYE Schemes, subscribed for 720,000 ordinaryshares of United Business Media plc at 492p per share on 31 May 2005. TheTrustee of the QUEST has agreed to use those shares to satisfy options grantedunder the SAYE Schemes on 15 December 1998, 17 September 1999, 20 April 2001,15 April 2002, 10 April 2003, 8 April 2004 and 1 April 2005.Following the above subscription, the Trustee of the QUEST holds a total of907,157 United Shares, representing 0.269% of the Company's issued sharecapital.
