Re: Interests in the Ordinary Shares of Cable and Wireless plcThe Company was notified on 6 January 2005 that on 5 January 2005 the Trusteesof Cable and Wireless plc Employee Share Ownership Trust ("the Trust") disposedof 3,545 Ordinary Shares at a price of ‚£1.185 per share.Following the disposal, 54,975,127 Ordinary Shares are currently held under theTrust. Francesco Caio, Rob Rowley, Harris Jones, Charles Herlinger, GeorgeBattersby and Lord Robertson of Port Ellen (all being directors of Cable andWireless plc) in their capacity as members of the class of beneficiaries underthe Trust and Towers Perrin Share Plan Services (GSY) Limited in their capacityas Trustees of the Trust are deemed to have a non-beneficial interest in theseOrdinary Shares.No Directors are disposing of any beneficial interests in the Company.END
