Sterling Energy PLC07 June 2005 Sterling Energy plc ("the Company") Director's Share Purchase The Company was informed today that on 3 June 2005, Dr. Elizabeth Butler, anon-executive director of the Company, purchased 20,000 ordinary shares of 1peach ("Ordinary Shares") at 15.5p per Ordinary Share. Immediately uponsettlement of the transaction, Dr Butler intends to gift these shares to membersof her family and consequently there will be no change to her beneficial holdingwhich will remain at 349,550 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.3% of the Company'sissued ordinary share capital.
