The Company announces that Tony Rice, Chief Executive, has been appointed as Senior Independent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee of Spirit Pub Company plc, which with effect from 1 August 2011 has been admitted to the Official List and to trading on the London Stock Exchange.

This follows the demerger of Spirit Pub Company plc from Punch Taverns plc, and the resignation of Tony Rice as a Non-executive Director of Punch Taverns plc.

This disclosure is made pursuant to LR 9.6.14(2).
