NOTIFICATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH LISTING RULE 9.6.14

Notification is made in accordance with LR 9.6.14 that Mr Nicandro Durante, an Executive Director of British American Tobacco p.l.c. (the "Company"), has been designated by Brown & Williamson Holdings, Inc. ("B&W"), a wholly owned indirect subsidiary of the Company, as its nominee to join the Board of Reynolds American Inc. in which the Company, through B&W, has an interest of approximately 42%. The appointment is to be effective on 5 December 2008.
