The following information is given subsequent to the announcement made on 3 August 2010 that Alan Stewart is to be appointed Chief Finance Officer of Marks and Spencer Group plc by the end of October 2010.

In accordance with paragraph 9.6.13 (1) of the Listing Rules, Alan Stewart has advised that within the last five years he was a director of WH Smith plc and Games Workshop Group plc.
