Director Changes in Responsibilities

DIRECTOR CHANGES IN RESPONSIBILITIES

In accordance with Listing Rule 9.6.11, Cable & Wireless Communications Plc today announces the following changes to Board responsibilities with immediate effect:

· Mark Hamlin, Non-executive Director, is appointed as Joint Deputy Chairman; and

· Robin Freestone, Non-executive Director, is appointed as Senior Independent Director.

The changes in responsibility follow the retirement of Simon Ball, former Joint Deputy Chairman and Senior Independent Director, in November.
