The appointmentwas made on 19 March 2008. John Henry Bishop, who is 63, is an actuary with broad experience in theinsurance sector. He has served on the boards of a number of insurancecompanies both in an executive capacity and as a non-executive director. He iscurrently a non-executive director of Berkshire Hathaway International,Motability Finance Ltd, Houston Capital Corporation Underwriting Agency and CETGroup and in the last 5 years has been a non-executive director of Domestic &General Insurance Company. He has previously worked at the Euler Group on itsmanaging board and as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Eagle StarInsurance Company Ltd where he was responsible for the worldwide generalinsurance operations and, before that, as Managing Director of Sun Alliance UKInsurance Company.
