Delta Mining Consolidated Corporate Update
Sable Mining Africa Limited, the AIM listed exploration company, announces the dismissal of Mr. Heine van Niekerk, the Group CEO of Delta Mining Consolidated ('DMC'), in which the Company holds a majority interest. Mr. van Niekerk's immediate dismissal follows the conclusion of an independently chaired disciplinary enquiry set up to investigate allegations of theft of intellectual property from DMC.
Mr. van Niekerk, who was suspended from his position on 23 February 2012 pending the judgement of the disciplinary enquiry, was found to have removed backup servers as well as having destroyed and deleted company data owned by DMC without permission. He subsequently refused to return the same despite being instructed to do so. Additionally the independent chairperson judged that Mr. van Niekerk deleted information from DMC in breach of the company's instructions and took steps to prevent the company from having sight of such information. In light of these complaints, it was the recommendation of the independent chairperson to dismiss Mr. van Niekerk from his position as group CEO of DMC.
