British Polythene Industries PLC03 February 2006 DEATH OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR It is with great sadness that the Board of British Polythene Industries PLC(bpi) has learned of the death of Professor Neil Hood CBE, who passed away on 2February 2006 after a long illness. Professor Hood has served as aNon-Executive of bpi since February 1998, providing important guidance andadvice to the company. Cameron McLatchie, Chairman of bpi said : "Neil was our longest serving Non-Executive Director. His passing will bringgreat sadness to all in bpi who had contact with him. His wise counsel wasoften the support we sought or the encouragement we needed but, equally, he wasnot afraid to voice his concerns. His combination of intellect, humanity and common sense made a him a great Boardmember and I am certain that this loss will be felt by the many organisationsthat had the privilege of working with him."
