Death of a Director

It is with great sadness that the Company announces that Dan David passed away yesterday. Dan served on the Board for two periods: from 1968 to 2007 (including periods as Executive Chairman from 1992 to 1998 and as non-executive Chairman from 1998 to 2005) and from July 2009, as a non-executive Director.

In 2005 Dan was appointed Honorary Life President of the Company in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the Company and its Group.

Dan also served on the Board of Governors of Tel Aviv University and founded the internationally recognised Dan David Prize. Amongst honours conferred on him, Dan was a Knight and Commander of the French Republic and Commander of the Italian Republic in the Order of Merit.

Serge Crasnianski, CEO, said: "This is a very sad day. Dan was a charming man who continued to work with tremendous energy, despite his advancing years. He contributed more than anyone to the growth of the Group during the 1960's to the 1990's and continued to be a wise and respected colleague. Our thoughts are with his wife and son at this time."
