David Robbie granted leave of absence
Rexam today announced that David Robbie, Finance Director, after a period of illness has recently been diagnosed with a serious condition and has been granted leave of absence to undergo medical treatment and chemotherapy. The Board has asked Director of Group Planning and Finance, Kath Kearney-Croft, to take the role of Acting Finance Director with immediate effect. David will continue to provide support to Kath and the Board in the preparation of the half year results to be announced on 30th July. The Board will review the need for an Interim Finance Director in due course.
Kath has been with Rexam for eight years and was Commercial and Strategic Planning Director in our European sector before moving to the Group's head office as Director of Group Commercial Finance in 2013. Prior to Rexam, Kath worked for the BOC Group in the UK and the US for 10 years.
Everyone who works with David would like to express their admiration for the way he has conducted himself in recent months while undergoing diagnosis. We all wish him a swift and complete recovery.
