FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 7 APRIL 2005 CHEMRING GROUP PLC COUNTERMEASURES DIVISION WINS $41 MILLION OF NEW ORDERS Chemring Group PLC ("Chemring") is pleased to announce that its UScountermeasures businesses, Alloy Surfaces Company, Inc. ("Alloy Surfaces"),based in Philadelphia, and Kilgore Flares Company LLC ("Kilgore"), based inTennessee, have recently secured $41 million of new orders.Kilgore has secured $22 million of contract options, the maximum available inthe second year of its four year contract with the US Department of Defence(the "DoD") for US Air Force M206 and MJU7A/B countermeasures. Deliveries willbe made during the latter half of this calendar year and into 2006. Thecontract was worth $18.4 million in the first year, which means that$40.4 million of orders have now been placed with Kilgore under this contract,which could be worth up to $104 million in total if the DoD takes up furtheroptions during the third and fourth years of the contract.Alloy Surfaces has received $13 million of orders from the US Navy for itsspecial material infra-red decoys, for delivery over this calendar year and thefirst half of 2006. The UK Ministry of Defence has also exercised a $6mcontract option on Alloy Surfaces for the supply of decoys to protect Tornadoand Harrier aircraft.
