Cosalt awarded 3-year contract with Babcock Rail for personal protection equipment
Cosalt, the leading provider of critical safety equipment and services for the Offshore Oil & Gas and Marine industries, as well as protective clothing for people exposed to hostile work environments, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded by Babcock Rail, one of the UK's major rail infrastructure support organisations, a new three-year contract starting 1 January 2010 to supply specialist personal protection equipment (PPE) for the company's employees.
The contract covers the supply of safety footwear and Hi Vis GORE-TEX® clothing, workwear and flame retardant PPE. All the garments mirror those being supplied to Babcock Rail's major customer Network Rail. They exceed the relevant European standards and comply with the rail industry standard GO/RT 3279.
A key factor behind the contract win has been Cosalt's long-standing relationship with Babcock Rail. Cosalt has been a key part of Babcock Rail's strategic supply chain for a number of years. In late July/early August 2008, Cosalt was instrumental in supporting Babcock Rail with a highly successful rebranding roll out to 1800 employees during an incredible three-week window of activity.
Gerry Beach, Babcock Rail's Key Commodity Manager, commented:
