SDL PLC09 January 2006 GSK Partners with SDL to Speed Product Submissions Selects SDL GIM solution for new XML product information standard Maidenhead, UK - 9 January 2006 - SDL International, a leader in the emergingmarket for global information management (GIM) solutions, announced today thatGlaxoSmithKline (GSK) has awarded SDL a contract worth over £300,000 fortechnology and consulting services to implement simultaneous multilingualproduct submissions to the European Medicines Agency (EMEA). GSK expects to see significant business advantages by reducing the timenecessary to pass the EMEA regulatory process through the deployment of the SDLGIM solution. A key decision factor was SDL's ability to support and enhance theprocess of creating content compliant with EMEA's XML-based product information(PIM) standard and adapting the XML content to the European Union's 20languages. The SDL GIM solution, including SDL TeamWorks, will be used to optimize andautomate the translation processes across the 20 European Union languages. GSKwill leverage SDL's centralized translation memory to maximize reuse ofpreviously translated content, with SDL TeamWorks' collaborative workflowcapabilities providing efficient translation change management during therevision cycles with the regulator. SDL enterprise consulting services willintegrate Arbortext technologies for authoring and Documentum CMS for the XMLproduct information into the unified GIM solution.
