Contract Win

Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre, Brazil

Hightex Group plc, a leading systems engineering company, which designs, fabricates and installs large area, cable supported, lightweight membrane roofs and façades worldwide, is delighted to announce that it and its Brazilian construction partner SEPA have been selected to engineer and install the membrane structure of the roof of the Beira-Rio Stadium in Porto Alegre, a 2014 FIFA World Cup venue. The contract win is the second in Brazil by Hightex, having already won the contract for Rio de Janeiro's Maracana Stadium that will host the 2014 FIFA Final and 2016 Olympics.

The project has a contract value approaching EUR 10 million. The engineering work will start immediately and the construction is due to be completed during 2013.

The Beira-Rio stadium is the fifth largest in Brazil, and will accommodate approximately 50,000 spectators: it is also home to Brazil's Seria A football club Internacional Porto Alegre. 

Hightex continues to vigorously pursue two further stadia projects in Brazil related to the 2014 World Cup.
