Meggitt PLC26 March 2007 For Immediate Release 26 March 2007 MEGGITT PLC CONTRACT WIN Meggitt Avionics secures $20m Apache Longbow contract Meggitt PLC ("Meggitt" or "the Group"), the international aerospace, and defencegroup, is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary Meggitt Avionics,has been selected by Boeing to supply the standby flight display system for theBlock III AH-64D Apache Longbow. The system was selected because of "bestinterest" and "best value" and will comprise Meggitt's secondary flight displaysystem (SFDS), secondary flight display repeater (SFDR) and magnetometer. Thenine-year contract is expected to generate revenue in excess of $20 millionincluding spares and support. Meggitt Avionics has supplied its secondary flight display system to more than30 different aircraft programmes and has supplied over 2,700 systems to date. Meggitt Avionics also supplies the unique helicopter air data system (HADS) forthe Apache, which senses airspeed accurately down to zero knots in anydirection. Part of the Meggitt Sensing Systems division of Meggitt PLC, Meggitt Avionics specialises in secondary flight displays, air data sensors and data acquisition systems. It was the first company to market an entirely solid state standby flight display system. 2. The system selected by Boeing includes a repeater display for the front cockpit which is driven by the Secondary Flight Display in the pilot's panel which has its own internal inertial sensors. A remotely-mounted air data unit and magnetometer provides complete secondary flight information to the pilot and navigator, independent of the main aircraft system. This data includes altitude, airspeed, attitude, and magnetic heading. 3.
