Meggitt PLC01 June 2007 For Immediate Release 1 June 2007 Meggitt PLC Contract Win $31 million award of M1A2 Abrams Tank Thermal Management Systems contracts Meggitt PLC ("Meggitt" or "the Group"), the international aerospace, and defencegroup, is pleased to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary Meggitt DefenseSystems, Inc. has received awards from General Dynamics Land Systems valued at$31 million for production and reset of Thermal Management Systems (TMSTM) forthe M1A2-SEP Abrams Main Battle Tank. The United States Army is upgrading its existing fleet of Abrams to the M1A2-SEPconfiguration to improve combat vehicle performance. This new contract willcommence delivery in early 2008 and will run alongside existing productiondeliveries. The TMSTM consists of a Vapor Compression System Unit (VCSU) and an Air HandlingUnit (AHU) that generate 7.0 kilowatts of cooling for tank crew and electronics.
