The order, valued at just over US$41 million, is for an additional 2,255 units, confirming EFC's excellent performance on the initial contract. EFC became part of the Meggitt group as a result of the K&F acquisition on 22 June 2007.

Commenting on the award, Terry Twigger, Chief Executive, said:

"This is a very exciting opportunity for EFC since this follow on contract is the biggest single order in its history and reflects the high confidence that the US Air Force has in us to support the KC-135 fleet. In particularit recognizes several years of excellent work that EFC has done in developing enhanced fuel tanks for the KC-135 aircraft and its efforts to ramp up to a sustained production rate. This record follow on order will provide EFC with a sustained revenue base for the next 5 years."
