Cobham plc ('Cobham') announces that its Cobham Aviation Services joint venture, FB Heliservices (FBH), has been awarded a £29 million contract from the UK Ministry of Defence.

The contract extends the Company's existing Belize and Brunei contracts until 31 March 2013 and the Middle Wallop training contract until 31 March 2012. Options then enable the contract to be further extended until 2015.

Under the new contract, FB Heliservices will provide a total of eight COMR (Civil Owned Military Registered) Bell 212HP helicopters; three in Belize, three in Brunei and two at Middle Wallop, together with engineering support at all bases and aircrew at Middle Wallop as necessary.

Allan Cook, Cobham's Chief Executive, commented:

"Following the award of the new contract for British Forces Cyprus earlier this year, this award underpins the FBH business well into the foreseeable future and further strengthens our position in the helicopter service market."
