Nasstar (AIM: NASA), the hosted desktop cloud service provider, is pleased to announce that one of its customers, Young Enterprise, has agreed to deploy Hosted Desktop on an UK wide basis, increasing the number of users from 15 to approximately 130. Nasstar has been providing its Hosted Desktop service to the North West region of Young Enterprise for three years. The additional users will be added to the Hosted Desktop platform in November this year.
Young Enterprise is the UK's leading enterprise education charity. Every year it helps 220,000 young people learn about business and the world of work in schools, colleges and universities under the guidance of volunteers from 3,500 companies. The charity previously ran as eleven separate regional charities across England and Wales and in September 2009 Nasstar was chosen to provide its Hosted Desktop service to the North West region. In March 2011 all the regional charities merged into a single organisation, and now it has been agreed that Hosted Desktop will be deployed across the whole of the national charity.
Charles Black, CEO of Nasstar, said: "We are proud to build on our excellent relationship with Young Enterprise. As the charity operates from sites up and down the UK our cloud based solution Hosted Desktop provides substantial benefits. I have had the privilege of judging the Young Enterprise regional awards and have seen the tremendous work Young Enterprise does. The children in schools across the country, encouraged and helped to create their businesses, really are inspiring."
Michael Mercieca, CEO of Young Enterprise, said: "Nasstar's Hosted Desktop makes a great deal of sense for us because it establishes a centralised IT function within what is now a national organisation. Across the regions there was a diverse range of legacy systems and it was important to make our staff up and down the organisation feel part of the new national structure. Hosted Desktop will do that and without the need for Young Enterprise to divert capital resources into IT."
