Sarantel will supply its revolutionary GeoHelix GPS antenna and its SkyTuneSatellite Radio antenna for the new Bushnell ONIX 400 - the world's firsthandheld navigation device with built-in satellite radio for real-time weatheralerts. Launched yesterday, the ONIX 400 has already won a 2007 CES InnovationAward at this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Navigation and real-time satellite radio reception are technically challenging.Bushnell selected Sarantel's miniature antennas because their small size andhigh performance enabled it to create an innovative handheld product withoutcompromising on GPS accuracy and satellite radio reception - important factorsfor hikers. Sarantel's filtering antennas are omni-directional and maintain highperformance even when in close proximity to each other, or the human body. The ONIX 400 allows the display of weather data, GPS and aerial/satelliteimagery on top of mapping data. The user can subscribe to Live XM weather feedsincluding animated Doppler radar and severe storm tracking and warnings.Additionally, the user can take advantage of XM Satellite Radio entertainmentoptions.
