Meggitt PLC signs a six year $130m requirements contract with the Defense Logistics Agency, Philadelphia, for the supply of fuel bladders
Meggitt PLC, a leading international company specialising in high performance components and subsystems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets, has secured a six year requirements contract with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Philadelphia, for the supply of fuel bladders to the F/A-18 Super Hornet, V-22 Osprey and the CH/MH-53 Super Stallion. The contract extension has a potential lifetime value of $130 million and deliveries are scheduled to commence in 2020.
Meggitt's fuel bladders use innovative polyurethane technology to provide a long-life, lightweight solution that is highly flexible, durable and maintenance-free. Their unique self-sealing properties have proved fundamental in reducing fuel spillage incidents and reducing fire-related death and injury in survivable helicopter crashes to almost zero.
