PETARDS GROUP PLC ("Petards" or the "Group")
Contract Win
Petards, the AIM quoted developer of advanced security and surveillance systems, announces that it has secured a contract for its eyeTrain on-board digital CCTV systems that will be installed on new Alstom Coradia Nordic X60 suburban EMU trains that are to be built by Alstom at their Salzgitter plant in Germany.
The Coradia is Alstom's range of regional trains of which the Nordic is the variant designed specifically for more extreme climates and this is the first time Petards' systems have been selected for the Coradia.
The order is for the supply of eyeTrain CCTV systems for the 46 six-car trains that will be operated by Greater Stockholm Local Transport SL in Sweden. It will be fulfilled and supported from the Petards' Gateshead facility with equipment deliveries expected to commence in the first half of 2014 and to be completed during 2016. Petards' systems will be fully inter-operable with the older analogue on-board CCTV systems installed on the 83 Coradia trains already in service with Greater Stockholm Local Transport.
Commenting on the award, Petards Chairman Raschid Abdullah said;
"We are delighted to have won this contract and to be delivering our systems onto such an innovative and highly respected regional train platform into a new geographic market. This project represents a significant development in our relationship with Alstom."
