Graphene NanoChem plc
("Graphene NanoChem" or the "Group")
Long Term Contract With Chevron Malaysia
Graphene NanoChem (AIM: GRPH), the nanotechnology and advanced materials company, is pleased to announce that Platinum NanoChem Sdn Bhd, its wholly-owned subsidiary, has been awarded a three-year contract with Chevron Malaysia for the supply of PlatAmber, the Group's biofuel product derived from palm waste for the Malaysian market.
PlatAmber is used as an additive into road-grade diesel which is in line with the Malaysian Government's B5 mandate that requires a mixture of 5% biofuel in diesel products. The Malaysian Government plans to increase this to a B10 mandate in 2016, following which the Group expects the market for the product to double.
Jespal Deol, Chief Executive Officer of Graphene NanoChem, commented: "We are pleased to be able to continue our relationship with Chevron Malaysia, who have a strong presence in the region. This contract positions the Group well for the expected growth in the Malaysian biofuels market, driven by the Government's B5 and B10 mandates.
"The expected growth in the biofuel market, coupled with the improvements to the Group's plant which are expected to be implemented later this year, will give Graphene NanoChem a solid foundation for the commercialisation of the Group's graphene based products."
