TEG Environmental Plc08 December 2005 For Release 7:00 a.m 8 December 2005 TEG ENVIRONMENTAL PLC WASTE CONTRACT SECURED WITH SCHWAN Waste secured for Sherdley Farm Plant, Partnership Established with Global Food Business TEG Environmental Plc ("TEG" or "the Company"), the cutting edge greentechnology company, which converts organic wastes into natural organicfertiliser, is pleased to announce that it has secured a 3 year contract for thecomposting of pizza waste from the Schwan Consumer Brands UK Ltd's ("Schwan")pizza production plant in Leyland, Lancashire. Schwan, whose UK brand is Chicago Town pizzas, is part of the global foodprocessing business, the Schwan Food Company, which has 18 plants in the USA andinterests across Europe. It has supported TEG throughout its Animal By-Productsaccreditation process. The 3 year contract is for the composting of all thewaste that is classified as Category III Animal By-Products and is worthapproximately £150,000. Commenting, Mick Fishwick, Chief Executive of TEG Environmental, said:"Concluding a long term agreement with a company of the size and quality ofSchwan is an important step forward for TEG. Not only is this a blue chipcustomer for our plant at Sherdley Farm but it opens up the door for furtherpossible developments with a global business. The contract with Schwan comes on the back of a further contract secured for thesupply of green waste to the Sherdley Farm plant. Green waste is an importantmaterial used to blend with food waste to ensure ideal composting conditionswithin the TEG Silo Cages. Planteconomics are driven by the gate fees charged, rather than the value of the endproduct (compost). The TEG process is an economic alternative to landfill. The Silo Cage system, one of the few technologies in Europe capable of treatingthis waste, is a natural process producing compost as an end product, used as anexcellent soil conditioner that fertilizes, retains moisture, provides structureand reduces the incidence of plant disease. TEG's Silo-Cages will be housed in aself-contained building, are not unsightly and are environmentally friendly. Potential customers include local authorities, waste management companies, foodprocessors, farmers and landowners.
