Sarantel Group PLC09 January 2007 9 January 2007 Sarantel Sarantel Powers World's Smallest Tracking Device Sarantel (AIM: SLG), the leading manufacturer of revolutionary filteringantennas for mobile and wireless devices and mywerk GmbH, a manufacturer of GPStracking devices, today announce the availability of Nanotrack, the world'ssmallest quad-band GPS and GPRS tracking device. Only slightly larger than a matchbox, Nanotrack has been designed to serve thepersonal, car and asset tracking markets. The device receives positionalinformation from the GPS satellites and communicates this data via GSM networks.A central server stores the position and information for the user who can use itin GPRS or SMS mode. The device incorporates the miniature GeoHelix S antenna. GeoHelix antennas havea tightly-constrained near field, meaning the antenna does not lose performancein close proximity to people or active components, which absorb signal energy.Because the antenna is omni-directional, it will receive satellite signals nomatter what its orientation. With its small size and different power-saving modes, the Nanotrack is capableof operating from several hours to many years, making it an ideal device formany different tracking applications. Robert Bastubbe, Chief Executive Officer of mywerk GmbH comments: "Performance problems and operations outages are generally caused by the sameissues time and time again. The antenna is often the source of these problemsthrough poor performance, improper placement, external manipulation oraccidental interruption. The GeoHelix antenna solved all of these problems andhelped us to get our concept to market quickly". David Wither, Chief Executive of Sarantel comments: "We are delighted to have been chosen by mywerk for its Nanotrack device, whosesmall size will make a big impact on the personal and asset tracking markets."
