12 October 2005Serco wins UK homeland security contractSerco Group plc ("Serco") today announces it has signed a contract with the UKGovernment to provide solutions to help detect the illicit importation ofradiological substances at UK borders. The contract with the Home Office tosupply equipment, training and support is worth more than ‚£100 million over tenyears. The equipment will be operated by HM Revenue & Customs. The programme, known as Cyclamen, provides routine screening of traffic at alltypes of UK points of entry to prevent the illicit importation of radiologicalsubstances, as part of the Government's counter-terrorism strategy.
