("Journeo", the "Company" or the "Group")
Contract award in Denmark
Journeo plc (AIM: JNEO), a leading provider of intelligent systems for transport networks and Critical National Infrastructure, is pleased to announce the award of a strategically important contract with Danske Statsbaner (DSB), Denmark's largest state-owned passenger rail operator. The DKK5.5m award (more than £0.6m) is the first widescale on-train system contract secured by the Journeo's Nordic subsidiary since acquisition in September 2023.
To fulfil the contract, Journeo will supply and install bodyside LED display panels into DSB's fleet of Dosto double-deck rail coaches, replacing obsolete technology with new, modern and easy-to-read LED display panels, core to Journeo's wide range of display technology, that will enhance the passenger experience and support improved accessibility, underpinned by a return-to-base warranty period.
As part of the tender process, Journeo was able to demonstrate its engineering expertise, providing a solution that integrates to existing on-board control and content management systems, ensuring that the customer can safely upgrade elements of their passenger information solution without the time and expense of a complete re-fit of all technology. Work on the installations is expected to commence in H2 and be materially complete by the end of the year.
Russ Singleton, Chief Executive, commented "I am delighted with this first-of-a-kind order for Journeo A/S, which evidences the appeal of our solutions in new territories. The delivery will be supported from the UK, demonstrating the collaboration across the Group to develop a solution that meets a customer need and work with flexibility and agility to meet demanding timeframes."
