Costain Group PLC09 May 2007 Costain Group PLC("Costain" or the "Group") Costain Secures King's Cross Station Upgrade Contract Costain announces that, in joint venture with Laing O'Rourke, it has secured the£30m King's Cross Eastern Range and Platform Y contract awarded by Network Rail. The contract is to upgrade the 300m-long 4-storey Grade 1 listed Eastern Rangebuilding adjacent to platform 1 at King's Cross. In due course, the projectwill also create a new platform, Platform Y, at ground level beneath the EasternRange building, replacing the existing taxi road. This is the first step in Network Rail's £400m redevelopment of one of thecountry's busiest stations, designed to increase capacity ahead of the 2012Olympics.
