Herencia Resources plc
("Herencia" or the "Company")
Continued High Grade Intercepts
(Paguanta Zinc-Lead-Silver-Gold Project in Northern Chile)
Highlights:
·; High grade and broad intersection in the "New Vein" position, 300m further east from previous intersections
·; High grade intersected adjacent to Cathedral vein
·; Mineralisation observed in core in holes above and below DD41 and DD43
Herencia Resources Plc (AIM: HER) is pleased to advise that assay results have been received from a further four holes in the current diamond drill program at the Company's flagship Paguanta Project in northern Chile.
·; PTDD049 intersected mineralisation at a number of points down the hole, the best being:
7.6m at 4.3% zinc, 2.0% lead, 247g/t silver and 0.14g/t gold from 186m
including 4.4m at 6.4% zinc, 2.1% lead, 274g/t silver and 0.19g/t gold
The significance of this mineralisation is that it is either a 300m eastern continuation of the New Vein, previously announced to the market, or it is a an entirely new mineralised vein.
·; Hole PTDD048 intersected 7m at 6.7% zinc, 1.0% lead, 67g/t silver and 0.16g/t gold from 193m including 4m at 10.6% zinc, 0.8% lead, 93g/t silver and 0.25g/t gold.
This mineralisation appears to occur between the Cathedral and Central veins. At this stage it is interpreted that the mineralisation is part of the Cathedral vein. The Company plans to drill a hole immediately along strike to test for a possible extension to this high grade zone.
·; Hole PTDD050 intersected 1.5m at 3.88% zinc, 1.0% lead, 65g/t silver and 0.08g/t gold from 110.3m and whilst the grade is moderate, it confirms the Cathedral remains open to the east.
Importantly, in addition to the above assay results, both PTDD051 and PTDD052 have intersected visible base metal sulphide mineralisation, 50m above and 30m below (respectively) the high grade previously intercepted in PTDD043 (7.50m at 7.1% zinc, 7.3% lead, 324g/t silver and 0.20g/t gold from 189.5m including 4.95m at 9.5% zinc, 10.6% lead, 467g/t silver and 0.22g/t gold). Assay results for these two holes will be available in July.
The final hole in the current program will be collared prior to 30 June and drilling is scheduled for completion in the first week of July. The Company has completed just over 5,000m to date. It is anticipated that all assay results will be returned by end-July 2010 with an update to the Mineral Resource Estimate expected by late August/early September 2010.
Commenting on the assay results, Managing Director Michael Bohm stated:
"Hole PTDD049 is shaping up as perhaps one of the most significant holes we have seen to date. As we near the completion of our fourth drill Program at Paguanta, we are still intersecting new and broad zones of high grade mineralisation. This particular intersection represents either a significant continuation of the 'New' vein or an entirely new vein, and bodes well for potentially adding to the resource base".
