National Express Group PLC01 December 2005 For immediate releaseThursday 1 December 2005 NATIONAL EXPRESS GROUP PLC Completion of Alsa transaction Further to its announcement of 11 October, National Express Group has receivedcompetition clearance from the Servicio de Defensa de la Competencia, theSpanish competition authority. As a result, all of the conditions have now beenmet and, therefore, the Alsa transaction has completed today. Alsa is thelargest private coach and bus operator in Spain operating a fleet ofapproximately 1400 vehicles. Jorge Cosmen, aged 37, will join the National Express Group Board as a nonexecutive director with immediate effect.
