For immediate release 2 September 2005 United Business Media Completes Sale of Stake in Five. United Business Media ("UBM") today announced that it has completed the sale ofits 35.4% shareholding in Channel 5 Television Group Limited ("Five") to theRTL Group ("RTL") for ‚£247.6m in cash. The agreement to sell this stake wasannounced on 20 July 2005. In 2004 under UK GAAP accounting Five generated ‚£288.8m of revenue and ‚£19.5m of operating profit. The disposal of Five is notexpected to generate any tax liability for UBM.
