MARKS & SPENCER APPOINTS NEW GROUP SECRETARY
Marks and Spencer Group plc (Marks & Spencer) today announces that Graham Oakley, Group Secretary and Head of Corporate Governance, is to retire with effect from the company's Annual General Meeting on 8 July, 2009.
Graham, 52, has worked for Marks & Spencer for 24 years and has been Group Secretary for the last 12. He will be replaced by Amanda Mellor, currently M&S' Head of Investor Relations.
Sir Stuart Rose, Chairman of Marks & Spencer, said: "Graham has been an outstanding Group Secretary and we are all grateful to him for his wisdom and dedicated service to M&S over so many years. We wish him well and thank him sincerely for all that he has done for the company. I congratulate Amanda on her new appointment and thank her for her significant contribution to our investor relations programme over the last 5 years."
