UBC Media Group PLC02 July 2007 2 July 2007 UBC Media appointed by Department Of Health to handle radio campaign for smoke free Britain The Department of Health (DH) has appointed UBC Media Group plc (UBC.L) tosupply radio promotional services for its "The Big Quit'" tobacco controlcampaign. UBC was selected following a competitive process managed by the Central Officeof Information (COI). The national tobacco control campaign aims to prevent the uptake of smoking,reduce numbers of smokers, and reduce exposure to secondhand smoke.The Big Quitforms the radio sponsorship element of this integated campaign which alsoincludes advertising, PR, direct marketing, digital marketing and partnershipmarketing. UBC, which is the largest supplier of network programming to commercial radio,will use local radio stations to build on the momentum created by England goingsmokefree on 1 July 2007. Radio DJ's will support and reward their listenerswho quit smoking and endorse the range of NHS support available to them.
