Cobham to Supply Boeing with Aerial Refuelling Systems for US Air Force KC-46A Tanker Aircraft

ARLINGTON, Virginia - Cobham has been selected by Boeing to provide hose and drogue aerial refuelling systems for use on the US Air Force's new KC-46A Tanker Aircraft. These systems will be manufactured by Cobham Mission Equipment at its new specialist air-to-air refuelling facilities in Davenport, Iowa.

The USAF plans to acquire 179 KC-46A tankers from Boeing. Cobham expects to equip each aircraft with a centreline drogue system. Approximately 30 tankers will also be provided with a pair of wing-mounted aerial refuelling pods.

Additional details regarding Cobham's scope of work and potential value will be announced once the contract has been definitised.
