Cobham Awarded AUD $150 Million QantasLink Scope Extension
Cobham has been awarded an AUD$150 million scope extension of its current B717 QantasLink contract through to 2018 that includes an increase to the number of B717 aircraft operated by Cobham from 13 to 18 and the establishment of new operating bases in Australia. The contract agreement with Qantas was signed on 15 May 2013 with flights anticipated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2013.
Bob Murphy, Cobham CEO commented:
"The addition of five further B717 aircraft to the fleet is a significant expansion of Cobham's commercial operations in Australia and strengthens a 22 year relationship with Qantas. We are the largest contract aviation company in Australia and this extension will create opportunities for 200 more staff, which is a credit to our very professional and dedicated team."
