(a sino-foreign joint stock limited company incorporated in the People's Republic of China) (Stock Code: 991) ANNOUNCEMENT CLOSURE OF BOOKS OF H SHARE SHAREHOLDERS Reference is made to the announcement of Datang International Power Generation Company Limited (the "Company") dated 29June 2007 regarding the results of the 2006 annual general meeting of the Company (the "AGM"). The resolutions inrelation to the 2006 profit distribution plan of the Company and the proposal on the issue of bonus shares under theshare capital expansion by utilising the capital reserve fund (the "Bonus Issue") were approved at the AGM. The board of directors of the Company (the "Board") would like to announce that the register of H shares members of theCompany will be closed from 19 July 2007 to 24 July 2007 (both dates inclusive). Holders of H share of the Companywhose names appear on the register of H shares members of the Company as at the close of business at 4:30 p.m. on 18July 2007 will be entitled to the dividends of the Company for the year ended 31 December 2006 and the Bonus Issue.
