("African Minerals" or "the Company")
African Minerals Limited (AIM: AMI) advises that it has been informed that on Friday 19 September 2008 the Supreme Court of Western Australia granted an interim injunction restraining Cape Lambert Iron Ore Limited (AIM: CLIO) ("CLIO") from: declaring unconditional its agreement with African Minerals to invest in the highly prospective Marampa Iron Ore Project in Sierra Leone; from issuing shares to complete its investment; or from entering into any other agreement with African Minerals.
The injunction, granted on Friday in favour of a CLIO shareholder, is in force until 6pm Western Standard Time on Tuesday 23 September 2008. On Tuesday 23 September the Court will consider whether the injunction should be extended.
The Company is monitoring this matter and will make further announcements as appropriate.
