Circle renews 5 year Nottingham NHS Contract

Circle Holdings plc: Renewed 5 Year Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre Contract Commences

Circle Holdings plc ("Circle")(LSE: CIRC), the employee co-owned hospital group, has signed a renewed contract to provide services from the Nottingham NHS treatment centre.

Over the next five years, Circle will build an integrated model to improve patient care. The new innovative pathways will see more patients being treated at home or in the community and the Treatment Centre will be developed as a community hub supporting the integrated model of care.

The new contract commenced on Sunday 28 July and is expected to generate around £200 million of revenue over its lifetime.

Steve Melton, Chief Executive Officer of Circle, said: "Over the past five years, we have proven we are able to deliver the highest quality of patient care in Nottingham. This innovative new contract will allow us to build on this experience and launch a new integrated model to treat more patients at home and in the community.

"We are delighted that local doctors and nurses have again shown their full support for Circle's unique approach of clinical leadership and employee engagement, which is improving care for patients in Nottingham and across the country."

Dr Stephen Shortt, GP Chair and clinical lead for Rushcliffe Clinical Commissioning Group said: "The local NHS is facing up to enormous and sustained challenges and the Treatment Centre is a really important part of the local system. Circle was selected to provide services from the Treatment Centre after a detailed process which was led by the new local clinical commissioning groups.

"The GPs in particular were very impressed with the quality of the existing service and the very positive patient feedback. In addition, we were encouraged by Circle's plans for the future and its commitment to work with local GPs to help us meet our future health priorities: efficient, effective services, a really good patient experience and where possible, closer to home."
