Applied Optical Technologies PLC25 October 2005 APPLIED OPTICAL TECHNOLOGIES PLC 25 OCTOBER 2005 POSTING OF CIRCULAR TO SHAREHOLDERS Applied Optical Technologies plc, the supplier of anti-counterfeitingtechnologies and services, announces that a circular convening an ExtraordinaryGeneral Meeting to approve the transfer of trading in the Company's shares toAIM and a reduction in the share premium account has been posted to shareholderstoday. A resolution will be proposed at the EGM to cancel the listing of the Company'sOrdinary Shares of 5p each on the Official List and trading on the London StockExchange's market for listed securities, and to apply for the admission of theOrdinary Shares of 5p each to trading on AIM. A second resolution will be proposed to approve a reduction in the share premiumaccount. Subject to High Court approval, the reserve created by the reductionwould be available to eliminate the deficit on the profit and loss account sothat the Directors may be able to consider the payment of dividends from profitsgenerated in the future.
