China JV completes Kingway acquisition

SABMiller's Chinese joint venture completes acquisition ofKingway brewery business

SABMiller plc announces that China Resources Snow Breweries Limited, its joint venture with China Resources Enterprise, Limited, has completed the acquisition of the brewery business of Kingway Brewery Holdings Limited, following receipt of regulatory and Kingway shareholder approval.

China Resources Snow Breweries, Limited

China Resources Snow Breweries Limited was established in 1993 and became a joint venture with SABMiller plc in 1994. It is engaged in the production, sales and marketing of beer in China. Its shareholders are China Resources Enterprise, Limited and SABMiller Asia Limited, a subsidiary of SABMiller plc. China Resources Enterprise, Limited has a 51% interest in China Resources Snow Breweries Limited while SABMiller Asia Limited holds the remaining 49% interest. It operates over 80 breweries in China with a total volume capacity of more than 170 million hectolitres.

China Resources Enterprise, Limited is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange ("HKSE") and is also one of the constituent stocks of the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong. Kingway Beer Group was established in 1985; Kingway Brewery Holdings Ltd. (previously Guangdong Brewery Holdings Ltd.) was established and then listed on the HKSE in 1997. Kingway is principally engaged in the production, distribution and sale of beer.
