Chase Customers and Employees Nominate Nearly 30,000 Local Charities Eligible for $5 Million in Grants

Nearly 30,000 eligible charities have been nominated by Chase customers and employees to participate in the fifth installment of the Chase Community Giving program, which will kick off voting in September. When voting ends on September 19, 196 local charities will share in $5 million in grants from Chase. Additionally, eligible, nominated charities that accept their nomination by August 30 will equally share in $2.5 million in additional grants.

In June, Chase customers and employees were given the opportunity to nominate their favorite local charities and their response was tremendous. Thanks to the thousands of Chase customers and employees who participated in the nomination phase, the 2012 Chase Community Giving program will feature nearly 30,000 local charities. These charities serve a variety of meaningful causes and represent communities across the country.

"With so much enthusiasm, we can't wait to see how communities engage during this year's voting period to support their favorite charities."

Voting will begin on September 6 and last through September 19. Facebook users will be able to cast their votes at Facebook.com/ChaseCommunityGiving. In addition, Chase customers will be able to vote at Chase.com/ChaseGiving. All eligible, nominated charities may participate in the voting program and must accept their nomination as described in the Program Rules by the close of the by the close of voting to receive a grant. Following the voting phase, Chase will donate $5 million to the 196 eligible charities who receive the most votes and accepted their nomination, with awards as follows:

$250,000 to the charity receiving the most votes; $100,000 to the next ten runner's-up; $50,000 to the next thirty-five runner's-up; $20,000 to the next fifty runner's-up; $10,000 to the next one-hundred runner's-up.
