Changes to Segmental Reporting
Cobham announces changes to its segmental structure for 2011, ahead of its preliminary results. These bring together businesses with similar markets or technology, consistent with its strategic objective of creating scale in each of its markets:
·; The Defence Communications business has been moved into the Avionics and Surveillance Division and will be managed with the Surveillance business to help provide combined customer solutions in areas such as Integrated Force Protection;
·; The Antenna Systems business has been combined with the Satellite Communication (SATCOM) business in the Avionics and Surveillance Division, to encourage and support further cross-selling;
·; The similar personal locator beacon and emergency locator transmitter product lines have been combined in the Avionics and Surveillance Division.
To reflect these changes, the Avionics and Surveillance Division has been renamed the Aerospace and Security Division.
Management of the former Missions Systems and Aviation Services Divisions has also been combined to bring together the Group's major projects and systems engineering expertise. This will enable Cobham to reap benefits from its programme and customer base where they overlap, such as the UK Future Strategic Tanker Aircraft (FSTA) where Cobham is supplying refuelling equipment, converting the fleet of Airbus A330MRTT aircraft and is a shareholder in the AirTanker consortium that owns the aircraft. Mission Systems and Aviation Services will continue to be reported separately.
Slides have been made available on www.cobhaminvestors.com/reports that illustrate the changes made and which give restated proforma comparative revenue and trading profit numbers for full year 2009 and half year 2010. Restated full year 2010 numbers will be made available with Cobham's preliminary results, which will be released on Thursday, 3 March 2011.
