Telecom Egypt Announces Change to Management Team & Board of Directors
Cairo, January 9, 2013: Telecom Egypt (TE) (Ticker: ETEL.CA; TEEG.LN), today announced that Mr. Hassan Helmy, Senior Vice President; Financial and Administrative Affairs and Chief Financial Officer, has decided to step down from TE's executive management team and from his executive board membership as of February 9, 2013, for personal reasons.
A replacement for Mr. Helmy will be announced in due course.
Commenting on the matter, Mr. Mohamed Amin Elnawawy, Managing Directror and CEO of Telecom Egypt said:
"Mr. Helmy has made an invaluable contribution to the success of Telecom Egypt since he joined in 2009. During his time as CFO, Mr. Helmy has ensured that Telecom Egypt has had a strong financial platform from which to grow and which positions us well for the next stage of the Company's future. Telecom Egypt (TE), Egypt's incumbent telecommunications operator, started its operations in 1854 with the first telegraph line in Egypt.
